Gujarat schools to reopen from February 18 for classes 6 to 8
India TodayThe government of Gujarat has decided to reopen the schools for the students of classes 6 to 8 in the state from February 18, after nearly 11 months of the closure of schools due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic surrounding the country. Though the schools are reopening for students of classes 6 to 8 for physical lessons from February 18, attendance will not be made mandatory for now for the safety of the students. Physical classes for these students across schools of all boards will resume with strict adherence to the Centre's Covid-19 norms and guidelines issued by the state government, Gujarat education secretary Vinod Rao said. The education secretary, while talking about the government’s decision to reopen the schools for junior classes, further said that the decision was taken keeping in mind the long-term interest of students as the Covid-19 cases in the state have declined.
