Another Bears loss in Green Bay makes you question the team all over again
New York TimesGREEN BAY, Wis. — Upon further review, this was another Chicago Bears game at Lambeau Field. It would’ve been a nice story, but there were no Fields heroics in what could have been his last game in a Bears uniform. Each player gets 10 minutes with him and general manager Ryan Poles and they go from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. Bears win total results since firing Lovie Smith 11 yrs ago: 2013 Under 8.5 2014 Under 8.5 2015 Under 7 2016 Under 7.5 2017 Under 5.5 2018 Over 7.5 2019 Under 9 2020 Under 8.5 2021 Under 7.5 2022 Under 6.5 2023 Under 7.5 1-10 — Joe Ostrowski January 8, 2024 As it often does for the Bears when their regular season ends, that’s when the real drama begins. I suppose it’s easy to imagine the talented Williams as the Bears’ long-awaited savior, but not long ago, we saw Fields’ college tape and thought, man, he could be the one. He’s not awful and he’s still growing as a passer — as a runner, he’s electric — but there’s no way you can watch Fields every week and be sure he’s “The Guy.” It’s a sad state of affairs that Love can seamlessly replace Rodgers and we’re still talking about the Bears’ quarterback carousel as if Johnny Lujack just retired.
