Illegal board: Kerala HC flays State govt. for supporting action of Secretariat staff forum
The HinduThe Kerala High Court on Thursday slammed the State government for supporting and justifying the action of the president and secretary of the Kerala Secretariat Employees Association’ by not proposing disciplinary proceedings against them for putting up a huge board in front of the Secretariat. The court further observed that the Additional Chief Secretary’s affidavit virtually averred that the offending board was placed by an agency and not by the office-bearers. ‘Whitewashing them’ The court added that one had totally failed to understand how the Additional Chief Secretary had found from the police report that these persons were not responsible for the board or its installation, but “has chosen in a very casual and cavalier manner to aver that it had been done by an agency.” The Additional Chief Secretary had not considered the police report. The Additional Chief Secretary is supporting and whitewashing them and did not understand his obligation to the court, the court observed and directed the Additional Chief Secretary to file an additional affidavit in this regard.
