Gandhian Centre for Philosophical Arts and Sciences to hold event to mark completion of decennial celebrations
The HinduThe Gandhian Centre for Philosophical Arts and Sciences, MAHE, Manipal, will hold an international conference on Saturday, alumni meet on Sunday, and Kendra Sahitya Akademi book release on Monday to mark the completion of its decennial celebration. Centre Director Varadesh Hiregange told reporters in Manipal on Thursday that the programmes will be held in the Sarvodaya Hall of the GCPAS, New Liberal Arts and Social Sciences building, MAHE. Started as Centre for Gandhian and Peace Studies on December 15, 2014, it was renamed as Gandhian Centre for Philosophical Arts and Sciences later. The department which initially offered certificate and open elective courses in Gandhian and peace studies, art appreciation, yakshagana studies and Indian Constitution, later started postgraduate/graduate courses in ecosophy, aesthetics, peace and media.
