Bhutan is poised to move up from the UN's category of the world's poorest known as the Least Developed Countries (LDC). The kingdom met two of the three criteria for graduation, including increasing national earning power and access to better health care and education. However, it fell short in the third category that measures economic vulnerability, which is due to its dependence on electricity exports to India.
