NSUI demands fair DUSU polls; left claims many students yet to get id cards

NEW DELHI: A delegation of the Congress-affiliated National Students’ Union of India submitted a formal memorandum to the chief election officer of the Delhi University on Wednesday demanding impartial Delhi University Student’s Union polls. Some of the stakeholders of the Delhi University, including teaching and non-teaching staff, tried to influence voters in favour of a particular organisation.” For a transparent and fair electoral process, he said, the NSUI, through the memorandum, demanded that the chief election officer should allow the presence of one polling agent representing each candidate running for the polls at every booth. On Wednesday, RSS-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad organised a ‘Chhatra Garjana Rally’ on Wednesday in North and South Campuses of Delhi University drawing the participation of hundreds of students. “Chhatra Garjana Rally stands as a unified voice, amplifying the students’ concerns in every College of Delhi University,” ABVP Delhi state secretary, Harsh Attri, stated.
