With his first wicket of the day, R Ashwin went past Harbhajan Singh's tally of 417 wickets in Test cricket and became India's third most successful bowler. Ashwin went past Harbhajan's tally when he got the big wicket of New Zealand opener Tom Latham who was playing a gritty knock on Day 5 of the enthralling Test match. Meanwhile, Ashwin also went past Bishan Singh Bedi's Indian record for the most number of wickets against New Zealand in Test cricket when he picked up his 2nd wicket on Day 5 - a freakish dismissal of wicketkeeper Tom Blundell.
