Dear Prudence is Slate’s advice column. That’s unfortunate given how healing it probably would have been to provide real support to her late son’s pregnant wife in her time of need. Dear Prudence, Ever since my wife and I got married, she’s struggled to keep up with her chores around the house. She comes up with different activities to take the kids to, she “feels bad” a lot of days and doesn’t do anything but lay around while the little one watches TV. It sounds like she’s always struggled with getting things done, and for the life of me, I’m not sure why you thought that would change when she became a stay-at-home parent.
