Rohit Sharma's hunger to play Test cricket should reflect in his actions: Bangar
India TodayFormer India batting coach Sanjay Bangar believes that India captain Rohit Sharma, enduring a lean patch in Test cricket, needs to demonstrate his hunger for runs through his actions if he wants to continue playing the red-ball format. The Indian captain's poor performance with the bat drew widespread criticism, and after he opted out of the fifth Test against the Baggy Greens at the Sydney Cricket Ground, several former cricketing greats speculated that Rohit's time in Test cricket might be over. Bangar, who worked closely with Rohit during his tenure as India's batting coach, emphasised that if Rohit does not retire, he must earn his place in the Test side by performing in domestic cricket. Players like Pujara and Rahane, who are on par with Rohit Sharma in stature, have been dropped in the past but have shown their hunger by playing in domestic cricket.
