Sam Bankman-Fried's jailhouse chat with Tucker Carlson lands him in solitary confinement
Raw StorySam Bankman-Fried, founder of the now-defunct cryptocurrency exchange FTX who's serving prison time for fraud, was tossed into solitary confinement after a jailhouse interview aired between him and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson. Bankman-Fried was placed in solitary confinement after the interview dropped, the Times reported, citing a source briefed on the situation. Bankman-Fried, once a Democratic megadonor, is now trying to secure a pardon from President Donald Trump, who has wielded the powers of the executive branch to have corruption charges dropped against New York City Mayor Eric Adams, pardon Jan. 6 rioters, and even Ross Ulbricht, creator of the Silk Road darknet marketplace. “The prosecution told a story about FTX and Sam Bankman-Fried that is not correct,” Kory Langhofer, an Arizona lawyer who worked for Trump’s 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns, told the Times.
