Residents of the bustling tourist town of Newquay, Cornwall have reacted in bemusement after an 'idiot' tourist mistook the beach for 'free parking' and parked their £25,000 Mercedes GLe SUV in the sand - beaching it entirely. The accident was discovered by a dog walker early yesterday morning at around 5am who noticed with amusement that a 'roads narrow on left ahead' sign had been placed next to the stricken vehicle. The stricken car caused much amusement to locals who couldn't understand the incident Reacting to the incident on the local Facebook group, residents had little sympathy for the driver. Sharing the photo, one said: 'Looks like some halfwit visiting Newquay mistook the beach for free parking.'
