VPA sets new record in manganese ore handling

Visakhapatnam: The Visakhapatnam Port Authority has set a record in manganese ore handling with the successful loading of 22,746 MT of manganese ore onto MV NBA VIVA at VSPL berth on January 29. As per the latest manganese ore handling data, the port successfully handled a total of 3,134,058 MT of manganese ore through 98 vessels from April 2024 to January, 2025. Additionally, the VPA set another milestone by handling the highest manganese ore in bulk discharged in a calendar month. In May 2024, the VPA discharged 4,37,270 MT of manganese ore in bulk from 17 vessels, surpassing its previous record in July 2023, where 12 vessels discharged 3,66,752 MT.
