Scott Applewhite/Associated Press The Supreme Court will hear arguments Dec. 1 in a case from Mississippi that tests whether all state laws that ban pre-viability abortions are unconstitutional. Circuit Court of Appeals, one of the most conservative in the U.S., blocked enforcement of the law, finding it in conflict with Roe v. Wade and subsequent abortion decisions. The court's announcement came weeks after the high court allowed Texas to move forward — for now — with a new law to ban abortions after cardiac activity is detected. Among them are Megan Rapinoe, an Olympic Gold Medalist and two-time soccer World Cup Champion team member; Ashleigh Johnson, another gold medal winner and the first Black woman on the U.S. Olympic water polo team; Diane Taursi, the WNBA's all-time leading scorer, five-time Olympic gold medalist; and Crissy Perham, two-time gold medalist and captain of the 1992 Olympic swim team.
