The Hyderabad Police arrested ten people, including the son of a Bharatiya Janata Party leader, for possession and consumption of cocaine at a party in a five-star hotel room, officials said on Monday. Police said that Gajjala Vivekanand, son of BJP leader G Yoganand and grandson of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah, was arrested for consuming cocaine during a party organised in a hotel room of Radisson Blu in Gachibowli. Following a tip off, police conducted a raid at the hotel and seized three used plastic covers containing cocaine, white-coloured paper used for drug consumption, and three cellphones. Vivekanand, 37, is the Director of Manjeera Group of Companies and son of businessman G Yoganand, who had contested the previous Telangana polls from Serilingampally Assembly constituency on a BJP ticket.
