GHMC to open two more multi-faith graveyards

Hyderabad: After inaugurating a multi-religious graveyard at LB Nagar, the GHMC is set to open two more such facilities, the modernised multi-religious graveyard in Sahebnagar and a Hindu-Muslim graveyard at Padma Nagar Phase 2 in Qutbullapur. A senior GHMC official said that since maintenance of the multi-faith graveyards is related to religion, the corporation would not be involved unless asked to. The facility at Padmanagar Phase 2 is spread over two acres and built at an estimated cost of Rs 1.5 crore with two entrances. Both the facilities are equipped with several amenities, including an admin block, security room, compound wall, burning platforms, ash storage facilities, prayer hall, parking facility, pathways, wash areas, electrification, plantation and landscaping.
