The Traitors Season 3 finale: Only one thing could redeem everything to do with Danielle.
SlateThis third season of The Traitors, the endlessly scream-at-the-TVable reality competition show on Peacock, has had a problem. Throughout this season, Danielle Reyes, three times a competitor on Big Brother, has spent her time as a traitor figuratively stepping on rakes: launching long-game plans with little hope of success, making snap decisions that look incredibly foolish and suspicious, declaring confidently to the camera that such-and-such has no idea what is coming. Upon Carolyn’s banishment, Danielle was given the chance to recruit another traitor, and chose her Big Brother enemy turned Traitors ally Britney Haynes—a move so obvious and dumb that the producers captured Britney speculating that Danielle would have to be a real idiot to do that. Last week’s episode seemed to be setting up a faceoff between Danielle and Gabby Windey, the former Bachelorette whose fantastic outfits and soft-spoken cleverness have made her this season’s breakout star. I’ve heard dark mutterings among fans that the reason for this cliffhanger is to keep Danielle-hating viewers sticking around one more episode—the idea being that, if we saw Danielle escape banishment yet again, we’d give up entirely.
