Kumbh Mela organisers warn visitors, devotees over fake hotel bookings

Oranisers of the upcoming Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj have warned devotees and visitors against online fraud cases in the name of hotel bookings, officials said. In the run-up to the world's largest religious congregation, several fake hotel websites are operating to dupe unsuspecting devotees. In the past few days, several people visiting Prayagraj have informed hotels, guest houses and other accommodation services that fake websites and phone numbers are fraudulently accepting reservations in their name. The police are looking into more complaints of fraud through fake hotel websites and phone numbers.
