MP: Plant a tree, get a ‘selfie with me’, offers MP’s woman mantri for environment protection
Deccan ChronicleBhopal: A woman member in the Mohan Yadav ministry on Monday took an innovative initiative to protect the environment by offering people an individual selfie with her if they plant a tree. Minister of state for welfare of OBC and minorities Krishna Gaur unveiled her plan for increasing green cover in the state by encouraging people to plant trees with her ‘selfie offer’. Fifty five-year-old Ms Gaur, daughter in-law of former chief minister Babulal Gaur, however made it a point that those keen to take selfies with her should post the photograph of planting trees by them on social media as evidence. She thought that the selfie seekers can be used for voluntary tree plantation which will also help promote awareness of the environment on social media when they post their photographs of planting the trees on them, he said.
