Suns’ Chris Paul, 2 weeks shy of 38, shows he can still close in the playoffs

LOS ANGELES — At this point in Chris Paul’s career, after every poor performance, the questions surface. But before Saturday’s Game 4 against the Clippers, Booker said Paul looked at him and said simply, “I’m ready.” That’s all Booker needed to know. “It’s impressive, but it’s not surprising,” Suns forward Torrey Craig said of Paul’s closing performance. After the game, Williams praised Paul’s mental stamina, where “he’s missing shots one game and he comes back the next game and just does what Chris does.” In the fourth quarter, Paul scored 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting. But each game offers a different learning experience, and Williams said he thought that Booker, Durant and Paul all were in “go-mode” Saturday.
