BJP-TMC Netas Come to Blows in KMC House

Kolkata: In an unprecedented incident, Trinamul Congress and BJP councillors clashed among themselves during the monthly session at the House of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation on Saturday. Furious over the fight between the two sides, KMC chairperson Mala Roy, who is also South Kolkata TMC MP, adjourned the session and left the House. She however returned to the House later, sent a stern message to the warring councillors and sent show cause notices to two of them. The tussle took place amid a debate when TMC councillor of ward no 70 Asim Bose left his seat in the treasury bench angrily and attacked BJP councillor Sajal Ghosh of ward no 50 who had alleged that the questions of the opposition were not being allowed.
