Actor Sexual Assault Case: Kerala Court Rejects Dileep's Discharge Petition

The Special Court in Kerala which is dealing with the actress sexual assault case has dismissed the discharge plea filed by Dileep, a Malayalam movie actor who is one of the accused in the case. Later, the High Court had allowed the prayer of Malayalam actress, for trial of her case in a court presided by a woman judge. Recently, the apex court overturned the Kerala HC's finding that 'memory card' was a 'material object' and that the accused was not entitled to its copy under Section 207 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. However, having regard to the privacy of the victim, it had rejected the Actor's Plea For Copy Of Memory Card In Kerala Actor Sexual Assault Case.
