Chhattisgarh to include PMAY houses under Naxal surrender and rehabilitation policy
Deccan ChronicleRaipur: In a first of its kind move in the country, provision of Prime Minister Awas Yojana houses has been made in the new Naxal surrender and rehabilitation of policy of the Chhattisgarh government. The Centre has cleared the Vishnu Deo Sai government’s proposal to allot 1,500 houses under the PMAY to the beneficiaries of the policy. Deputy chief minister Vijay Sharma indicated that a mechanism has already been put in place to implement the special housing scheme for the surrendered Naxals and victims of Maoist violence. The superintendents of police of the Naxal-infested districts will submit the list of surrendered Naxals and victims of Maoist violence to the chief executive officers and zilla panchayats of their areas for identifying land and building houses for them under the special housing scheme.
