PMC asks state to allow increased spending for purchase of EVs

Kunal Khemnar, additional municipal commissioner said,” Due to the state government cap on purchasing cars, we cannot purchase electric cars as the cost of the base model is ₹15 lakh. We have written a letter to the state government seeking an increase in the PMC’s spending limit on new cars.” As per the current state government directives the civic body cannot spend more than Rs8 lakh on the purchase of a new car.
