Kite and Sweet Festival at Secunderabad Parade Grounds from January 13

The seventh edition of the International Kite and Sweet Festival will be held at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad from January 13 to 15, coinciding with Sankranti. Nearly 47 international kite flyers from 16 countries and 60 members of a kite club from 14 States would fly kites at the festival organised by Telangana Tourism and Culture department. Entry is free and all are invited, said Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao while giving details about the festival, at a press conference held in Hyderabad on Saturday. He said that the Kites and Sweet Festival would be held in the rural part of the State too in the coming days.Dubbing Hyderabad as a mini-India, the Minister said that besides people from various States, those from other countries too have settled in the city.
