Left parties protest against activist’s murder in Thirumayam

Members of various Communist parties staged a protest in Thirumayam on Monday condemning the murder of activist Jagaber Ali and demanding action against unchecked sand mining in the region. On Monday, members of the Communist Party of India, the Communist Party of India, and other allied organisations staged the protest near the Thirumayam bus stand to condemn the murder and the alleged inaction of officials on complaints regarding illegal mining. CPI district secretary T. Sengodan, CPI district secretary S. Shankar, and CPI district secretary V.M. Valathan, who addressed the protesters, reiterated their demands for an investigation into complaints of illegal sand mining and stringent action against those involved in Ali’s murder.
