Committee set up to reconsider minimum marriage age of girls: PM Modi in Independence Day speech

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his speech on the occasion of the 74th Independence Day on Saturday, said that the government has set up a committee to reconsider the minimum age for marriage of girls in India. "We have set up committee to reconsider the minimum age for marriage of our daughters. We will take appropriate decision after the committee submits its report," said PM Narendra Modi. Over 5000 centres of Jan Aushadhi Kendra have provided more than five crore sanitary pads to poor women for just Rs 1," said PM Modi while delivering his seventh consecutive Independence Day speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort.
