Coronavirus variant Centaurus discovered in Netherlands for the first time

The BA.2.75 variant of the coronavirus, also called Centaurus, has now also been identified in the Netherlands. Vaccine manufacturers have been working in recent months to update their vaccines for the Omicron variant. In the Netherlands, people from the age of 60, residents of nursing homes, adults with Down syndrome and adults with a serious immune disorder can receive the additional booster. People do not suffer from more severe symptoms of the disease when they become infected by one of those three sub-variants, compared to the first Omicron variant.
