Earlier, the leader of opposition in the West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari had met Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar to oppose appointment of MLA Mukul Roy as the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee and requested for his intervention citing violation of rules in the appointment of Mukul Roy.
