Kids' book celebrating outdoor play successful for SA primary school teacher

As a primary school teacher for the past 25 years, Angie Casanova has seen first hand the impact the evolution of modern technology is having on children's development. "The biggest difference in children since screens have become such a big part of their everyday life is their lack of oral language skills," Ms Casanova said. "It's quite distinctly different to the children that lack those experiences," Ms Casanova said. "One of them called me and said, 'We really love it … We think it's a really important theme'," Ms Casanova said. "My book is really a nod to that time in a child's life when they're free and nature is there, and the relationship between parent and child," Ms Casanova said.
