Supreme Court asks Prashant Bhushan to think over his charges against court, AG says he should be forgiven
India TodayAs the Supreme Court begun hearing of the contempt of court case against senior advocate Prashant Bhushan on Tuesday, Attorney General KK Venugopal sought pardon and said he should be forgiven by the court. The Supreme Court once again asked Prashant Bhushan to "think over" the allegations he has raised against the judiciary and whether he will withdraw the allegations. The Supreme Court bench noted that Prashant Bhushan has refused to apologise for his tweets against the judiciary and CJI SA Bobde. The Attorney General appealed to the court seeking forgiveness for Bhushan and said, “Even if he believes he has not done anything wrong and the court believes he is not right, if you forgive him it will be appreciated by the Bar.” The Supreme Court bench then asked, “What’s the meaning of this advice when he is not admitting his mistake.
