Unanswered Seahawks questions: Geno Smith’s consistency, Jamal Adams’ health
New York TimesThe Seahawks will report to training camp July 25 before holding their first practice July 26. Through the first two weeks of the 2022 season, Seattle’s conservative approach on offense resulted in Geno Smith leading the league in completion percentage albeit while ranking 20th in yards per attempt and dead last in air yards per attempt. Walker dominating the carries wouldn’t be the end of the world — he ranked eighth among running backs in yards per game last year — but it will be unfortunate if Charbonnet doesn’t get enough touches to be the player Seattle hoped he’d be when selecting him with the 52nd pick. Having Jordyn Brooks as the new signal caller next to Cody Barton last season resulted in growing pains at the second level of Seattle’s defense, which was one of the worst units in the league at stopping the run. Signing veteran safety Julian Love means Seattle doesn’t need to rush Adams back, but Adams carries the team’s highest 2023 cap hit, and the unit missed his playmaking last season, especially against the run.
