Subsidy-linked assistance for farmers, SHGs to buy machinery for adding value to millets in Virudhunagar district

Farmers, entrepreneurs and farmers producers organisations in Virudhunagar district are invited to get subsidy-linked assistance to procure machinery for adding value to millets. A statement from Joint Director Vijaya and Deputy Director Sumathi said that 52,450 hectares of millets had been cultivated in Virudhunagar district. Farmers can get assistance for post-harvest requirements like warehouse, silos, sorting and grading units, drones and organic input production and other equipment which could be given on hire. The assistance for buying machineries like sorting and grading units would be up to ₹2 crore at an interest rate of 3% would be given with a maximum subsidy of up to ₹18.75 lakh.
