Grant Holloway gets his Olympic redemption, then unloads about what’s still missing
New York TimesSAINT-DENIS, France — A little over an hour after delivering the greatest 110m hurdles win of his career, Grant Holloway sat on stage with a 355 ml can of elderberry tequila seltzer. “I think I’m one of the top five athletes in this sport, and I get treated, I think, lesser than,” Holloway said Thursday. 🤌🏾 — S. Grant Holloway, OLY May 21, 2024 So after Thursday’s win, sitting on the biggest stage of his career, Holloway didn’t get washed in sentiment or sappiness. “I’m the one that is winning world titles day in and day out, and I don’t have a watch deal,” Holloway said. I’m the one doing what I have to do, day in and day out, practicing, putting the USA on the map, and making things happen, and I don’t get some of the sponsorships that some athletes do who haven’t done what I’ve done.” Holloway said the lack of larger sponsorships doesn’t motivate him, and he isn’t jealous.
