India TodayAmid rising cases of the Omicron variant of coronavirus, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has issued fresh Covid-19 guidelines. The Mumbai civic body has appealed to people to adhere to the revised rules in hotels, restaurants, cinemas, and shopping malls and at any event or gathering, be it indoors or in the open. In case of any function or gathering in open spaces exceeding 200 people, the Assistant Commissioner of the local ward shall send their representatives to supervise the event and ensure adherence to Covid norms. BMC Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal has appealed to citizens to avoid gatherings and parties during the upcoming Christmas festival and New Year, and warned of stringent action against those who flout rules.
