Delhi election: liquor, cash worth ₹21.89 crore seized in Capital since MCC enforcement
The HinduLiquor, cash, and other prohibited items worth ₹21.89 crore have been seized in the Capital since the enforcement of the model code of conduct, the office of Delhi’s Chief Electoral Officer R. Alice Vaz said on Monday. Other recoveries include precious metals worth ₹6.1 crore, drugs worth ₹5.05 crore, and liquor worth ₹47 lakh. Speaking to mediapersons, Ms. Vaz said police personnel deployed for election duty are being trained, and critical data related to nominations, permissions, and enforcement activities are being monitored on a daily basis. Meanwhile, a senior police officer said that over 60 companies of paramilitary forces and more than 10,000 police personnel will be deployed across the Capital for Republic Day and election-related security arrangements.
