BMC presents over ₹74,000 crore budget for 2025-26

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, considered the richest civic body in the country, on Tuesday presented its budget of ₹74,427 crore for the year 2025-26. A total of 70 lakh metric tons of legacy waste is decided to be processed and disposed of by June 2025 to reclaim 24 Ha. Approximately 40.93 lakh metric tons of legacy waste have been already processed and disposed of as of December 31, 2025. Processing and disposal of about 18.37 lakh metric tons of legacy waste is planned from January 2025 to March 2025, and about 10.7 lakh metric ton is planned for the year 2025-26.
