UV filters, socially distanced seats: Cinema halls in Delhi gear up for reopening

India Today

Amid dipping Covid cases in Delhi, the Arvind Kejriwal-led government has allowed reopening of cinema halls, theatres and multiplexes with 50 per cent occupancy starting Monday. A team from India Today TV landed at a movie theatre - Delight Diamond Cinema Hall- in Delhi and saw staffers gearing up for the grand reopening after three months. The entire movie theatre was sanitized and a new seating arrangement put in place to ensure the seat next to every individual is left empty to maintain social distancing. As per the manager of the cinema hall, maintaining seat distancing inside the hall will also make audiences feel safe about returning to the movies.
