ABCMiles Nautu comes from a life ingrained with Jazz. “When you play bass, you can just fit into any band and just do whatever, so you know, I was going to do his rock gigs or his country gigs or his jazz gigs or whatever it was that week.” Loading Influences such as Kendrik Lamar, Denzel Curry and Joey Bada$$ can be seen throughout Miles work from his intricate storytelling to his slick funk and soul production. everything is kind of incomparable to the start.” Originally struggling to find his sound, Miles explained that he didn’t feel like the music he was making was “correct” until he discovered jazz rap, which hit its peak in the late 80s and early 90s. “I started putting together jazzy chords and once I got it, it was just a huge sense of relief,” “It feels like I'm making something that I like, and when I can listen to and be like ‘I would listen to this if I didn't make it’… that's a huge piece of confidence.” Loading Playing incredible shows this year from fully packed venues at Bigsound, to more recently hitting the stage at Promiseland as Unearthed’s competition winner, Miles has kicked some crazy goals in 2024. “I'm playing on the same day as Metro Boomin, which I think is insane because I think two years ago, I made a song about opening for him and now it's true.” Curating a storyline through his work, he’ll be bringing his tracks to life again on the stage at South by Southwest in Sydney in mid-October, alongside a majestic jazz band that you won’t want to miss.
