Girl Dies By Suicide After Her Objectionable Snaps Posted On Social Media: Allahabad High Court Denies Bail To Accused

Noting that the Girl was made naked among her family and social circle where she was left with no other option but to hang herself, the Allahabad High Court recently denied Bail to the Accused who allegedly posted Girl's objectionable pictures on Social Media, Instagram etc. Legal analysis Since the applicant-accused argued before the Court that he was innocent and the deceased was hypersensitive girl, who took this extreme step without any abetment, the Court remarked that for the purposes of "abetment", it involves a mental process of instigating a person in doing something. In other words, the Court said, in order to establish that accused abetted commission of suicide by a person, it has to be established that:- The accused kept on irritating or annoying the deceased by words, deeds, wilful omission or conduct until the deceased reacted or pushed or forced to take the extreme step. Further, assessing the facts of the instant case with the above parameters, posting the pictures, photos of the deceased girl on Social-media, Instagram by the present accused within few days before her death, who was going to marry with another boy, the Court said, "The girl is in her minority, having no father; the accused/applicant has virtually makes her naked among her family and social circle where she was left with no other option but to commit suicide by hanging herself."
