Jail suspended over tourist's wrong side fatal
An Italian tourist who caused a fatal head-on crash when he pulled out onto the wrong side of the road, south of Adelaide, has had his jail sentence suspended. Gabriele Cimadomo, 36, was holidaying in Australia in February when he drove his hire car onto the wrong side near Langhorne Creek and into the path of another car. Judge Gordon Barrett told Cimadomo his driving was dangerous but he suspended a two-year prison sentence in favour of a $500 three-year bond. Last year a French tourist avoided going to jail over a fatal smash on the wrong side of a road in the Adelaide Hills.
