PhD not mandatory to become Assistant Professor, says UGC
India TodayThe University Grants Commission has decided not to make a Ph.D. mandatory for the post of Assistant Professors in departments of universities from 01.07.2021 to 01.07.2023. UGC Amendment for qualification of Assistant Professors UGC has made an amendment to the UGC, Regulation, 2018 regarding clause 3.10 that stipulates that the Ph.D. degree shall be a mandatory qualification for direct recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor in Department of the Universities w.e.f.
