Kucha extends preferential policy targeting Ningbo tourists

Kucha, a county-level city in Aksu prefecture in Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region, recently announced that it will extend the validity period of the preferential policy targeting tourists from Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province. Kucha rolled out the policy in April, allowing Ningbo residents to tour its major scenic attractions for free from May 1 to Nov 10. The major scenic spots in the county include the Site of Subashi Buddhist Temple, Kizilgish Beacon Tower, Kucha Palace and Tianshan Mysterious Grand Canyon. Ningbo was paired with Kucha under a "pairing assistance" program launched by the central government in 2010, which sees more prosperous provinces and municipalities in East China lend support to underdeveloped regions in the country.
