Jal Jeevan Mission coverage to cross 85% during govt.’s term: Minister

Household tap connectivity coverage in rural households under the Jal Jeevan Mission will cross 85% by the end of the government’s term, Minister for Water Resources Roshy Augustine informed the Assembly on Thursday. Replying to the discussion for demands on grants for water resources, Mr. Augustine said the coverage had risen from 25% to approximately 55% from the launch of JJM in the State. By January-February 2026, more than 550 panchayats will have full coverage under the JJM, Mr. Augustine said. Of the 70.77 lakh rural households in the State, 38.51 lakh households have tap connection at present, according to data with the Jal Shakti Ministry.
