Nearly 40 domestic and international flights to and from various destinations were delayed at Chennai airport on Tuesday. Officials of Airports Authority of India said, from early morning the flights were delayed anywhere between half hour to as much as two hours till late afternoon. International and domestic arrival flights from Madurai, Mumbai, Kochi, Hyderabad, Port Blair, Muscat, Dubai, London, Doha and New Delhi too were delayed at Chennai airport. Officials said, while a few flights were delayed due to poor visibility at Kolkata and New Delhi, majority of them were delayed by various airlines due to operational reasons.
