
Chennai Corporation to develop more recreational areas; Mayor opens playground in Valasaravakkam
The HinduGreater Chennai Corporation plans to open spaces in various parts of the city have been identified for the development of additional recreational areas. This was announced at an event on Wednesday where Mayor R. Priya inaugurated a newly-constructed playground on Perumal Kovil Street in Ward 145, Valasaravakkam Zone. Developed under the Singara Chennai 2.0 project at a cost of ₹50 lakh, the playground features a walkway, compound wall, restrooms, open-air fitness equipment, children’s play structures, a kabaddi ground, and lighting facilities, she said. “This facility will be a great asset for residents of localities like Pallavan Nagar, Matha Kovil Street, Perumal Kovil Street, Krishna Nagar, Sakthi Nagar, and Alagammal Nagar,” Ms.Priya said.
