Top lawmaker issued ominous warning months before DC crash
Daily MailA top lawmaker warned there could be accidents when more flights were approved at Reagan National Airport just months before the crash on Wednesday night that has killed up to 67 people. Senator Tim Kaine, a Virginia Democrat, hinted in May 2024 that there was risk of collisions if more routes were approved at the airport, which was already one of the busiest in the country. Kaine and Virginia Rep. Don Beyer told DailyMail.com Thursday that they're certain that some of the passengers who perished in the American Airlines crash were their constituents. 'I have not yet seen a manifest or a passenger list but you kind of have a sense of dread about something like this - you're going to see names that you know,' Kaine said in a gaggle with reporters at Ronald Reagan Washington Airport Thursday morning.
