Chandiwal Committee rejects ex-Mumbai Police chief Param Bir Singh's plea against probe
India TodayThe commission of inquiry, headed by Justice K U Chandiwal, has rejected the contention of former Mumbai Police commissioner Param Bir Singh, who had raised an objection to the maintainability of the commission. The single-member committee was formed by the Maharashtra government to investigate the charges levelled by Param Bir Singh against former home minister Anil Deshmukh. After Param Bir Singh had filed his objections before the commission, Justice Chandiwal had sought the say of others in the case, including that of former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh, Singh's former subordinate and dismissed Mumbai cop Sachin Vaze, DCP Raju Bhujbal, and ACP Sanjay Patil among others.
