Mullakkodi A.U.P. School students lead green initiative by collecting bus tickets

Are bus tickets and various receipts mere waste? For the past five months, students have been collecting discarded bus tickets and other paper receipts from passengers, ensuring that they are put to better use rather than being thrown away or burnt. Sreekanth said the core of the initiative lies in a simple yet powerful realisation that every piece of paper comes at the cost of trees. Driven by this awareness, around 250 school students took it upon themselves to gather as many tickets as possible. She said that people are throwing away these tickets after use, without realising that so many trees would have been cut down to make this small piece of paper.
