Trump throws House Freedom Caucus chair under the bus and backs his primary challenger
Raw StoryRep. Bob Good, the chairman of the right-wing House Freedom Caucus, got tossed under the bus by former President Donald Trump on Tuesday. In a Truth Social post, Trump attacked Good as "BAD FOR VIRGINIA, AND BAD FOR THE USA" as he delivered an endorsement of Good's primary opponent, John McGuire. "He turned his back on our incredible movement, and was constantly attacking and fighting me until recently, when he gave a warm and 'loving' Endorsement," Trump wrote of Good. Trump has a long history of casting aside longtime loyalists whom he deems to be insufficiently committed to him, including former Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who balked at Trump's demands to end the Mueller investigation, and Rep. Mo Brooks, who wouldn't go along with Trump's plan to attempt to get "reinstated" as president despite having lost the 2020 presidential election.
