Rau’s IAS Study Circle CEO, coordinator granted bail in Civil Services aspirants drowning case

A Delhi court on Monday granted bail to Abhishek Gupta, the former CEO of RAU’s IAS Study Circle, and Deshpal Singh, the institute’s coordinator, in connection with the deaths of three Civil Services aspirants at the institute in July 2024. Granting a regular bail to the accused, the court ordered Mr. Gupta and Mr. Singh to submit a personal bond of ₹1 lakh along with two sureties. During the hearing, Mr. Gupta’s counsel submitted that the investigation into the case had been completed and that the Central Bureau of Investigation had filed a chargesheet. In its chargesheet, the Central probe agency had accused Mr. Gupta and his aide, Mr. Singh, of criminal negligence.
